FIVCRT: Minister Acknowledges Fruit Sector Efforts

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Mr Senzeni Zokwana, is very happy with the progress the Fruit Industry Value Chain Round Table (FIVCRT) has made over the last year.
The department wrote in a letter to Dr Konanani Liphadzi, CEO of FruitSA, that it “graciously appreciates the continued efforts, commitment, dedication and collaboration in ensuring that the South African fruit industry continues to claim its competitive position on the global stage”.

“It is through collaborative efforts such as this one that the fruit sector will continue to contribute to job creation, economic growth and unlocking the greatest economic potential of the sector in the country. I wish to congratulate you and the entire FIVCRT on the progress made thus far and further wish the FIVCRT well in its endeavours.
The FIVCRT is a partnership between government, the fruit industry, as well as labour and its aim is to foster collaborative industry-government actions that help to secure an enduring competitive advantage of the fruit sector. The FIVCRT wants to involve all critical role-players within the entire fruit value chain.
