‘Area-Wide Integrated Pest Management’ Book

In 1997 Anton Rabe and Brian Barnes got on a plane to meet with Thoko Didiza, the then Deputy-Minister of Agriculture – to lobby for DAFF support for an area-wide integrated pest management project. The support came sometime later with the MOU signed between DFPT (Hortgro) and DAFF being renewed every third year. The resultant FruitFly Africa is currently busy with the 5th cycle which will come into effect on 1 April 2021 for another three years.
